Financial literacy in open learning

Money managemnet is one of the most important life skills, yet it’s rarely taught well. Traditional finance education can feel gated, full of jargon, or inaccesible to people who need it most. For my free inquiry project, I want to explore how open and distributed learning can make financial literacy more accesible to everyone

Over the next few weeks, I’ll explore open resources like Khan Academy, Wealthsimple Learn, and some famous YouTube channels and reflect on how they teach personal finance. I’ll also look at how design and gamification can make financial learning more engaging and relatable. My goal is to understand what truly helps people leanrn about money freely, openly, and effectively.

🗓️ Learning Plan
Week 1: Define inquiry and collect open finance resources.
Week 2: Exploring and evaluating resources.
Week 3: Explore engagement through gamification and design.
Week 4: Equity and accesibility.
Week 5: Summary and reflection.
